Leadership Profile | Agnieszka Ceitil
Originally drawn to the technology field by the complexity and what seemed to her at the time almost mythical in its nature, Agnieszka was surprised to realise that in reality the technology field was much more about people and what humans can create when working together. “Talking to people about business complexity and how technology can improve their business and make their lives easier ended up being a natural fit for me.”
As Head of Commercial, Agnieszka CeitiI and the Business Development team are responsible for all commercial and client facing aspects for Saratoga. These responsibilities include facilitating new business as well as maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and ensuring that they continue to receive the high standard of service Saratoga is known for as a solution delivery partner to our global client base.
Reflecting on her established career within the industry, Agnieszka considers herself very fortunate in her career thus far to work for forward thinking organisations such as Saratoga, with brilliant people who have made her own professional achievements possible. “All milestones, large and small, as well as both positive and negative lessons learnt ultimately contribute to how my professional journey has evolved and continues to evolve.” For Agnieszka, each of these events hold value and her unique experiences continue to build her into the person and professional she is today.
In her professional journey, Agnieszka has crossed paths with many people who have influenced her career and management style in both small and significant ways. “Each person leaves an impression and a contribution that is difficult to quantify.” While there have been some people and mentors in particular who have guided and supported Agnieszka in her professional life, she believes that each and every person you come to work with touches your life and can teach you something – you just have to pay attention to these encounters and be open to learning from others.
“To me, courses and books are sources of raw data and information.” There is not one course or book that has been the definitive’ source of truth’ for Agnieszka. “I’m analytical, so I read and gather as much information as possible, often times, information from completely outside of my field.” Based on this information, Agnieszka then makes her own deductions and often finds that the more she engages with information and other people – the more these deductions continue to evolve and change.
Her approach to life-long learning is something Agnieszka also incorporates into her leadership style, and she believes that one’s leadership style should be fluid in order to adjust to specific situations or in order to respond effectively to complex variables. However, being a collaborative leader is a style that comes most naturally to her. “My philosophy is that a team can do much more and go much further than any individual.”
Beyond her work in the technology field, Agnieszka has a wide variety of interests – many of which she unfortunately doesn’t always find time for as a full time professional and mother of two young girls. Her interests also range from topics she’ll be deeply fascinated by for a short while, to topics she has a keen interest in for many years. From financial investments and e-commerce, to photography, graphic and interior design, art, architecture and history to even psychology, biology and gardening. The world certainly remains a fascinating place for Agnieszka.
